About the cruise

An individual sailing cruise from Marmaris to Gemiler Island is perfect for those who are new to this format of cruising and want to experience the smoothest possible immersion into the world of yachting. This route was designed by a team of experienced yachtsmen and features the most picturesque seacoast locations, allowing you to discover Turkey's natural beauty in the most comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.

Itinerary of the cruise:

Marmaris is a lovely and charming resort town and one of the main yachting spots in Turkey. There are several large marinas with many unique boats, one of which will become your home for the next week.

Check-in on the yacht usually takes place around 14:00. Until then, we suggest you stock up on food at a nearby store and change the required amount of money for Turkish Liras if needed. The Turkish liras can be very useful for paying restaurant bills in the coastal towns with no or unsuitable cash exchangers. Once you board the boat, you will meet your captain, listen to a safety briefing, and start to settle in.

Once you've done that, we recommend that you don't hesitate and set off right away to a new destination. This way, the first dinner will be on board the yacht, and you will arrive at the anchorage in the late evening.

The first morning will start at the picturesque Ekincik Bay, surrounded by mountains and coniferous forests. This place is famous for its clear and warm water, as well as the lack of strong winds; this makes it absolutely perfect for swimming and sunbathing. In addition, not far from the bay is a village with restaurants, small local shops, and a market.

After such a joyful morning, the captain will suggest sailing further. During the next sea passage, you will be able to enjoy the views of Turkey while heading to another equally picturesque location, Tomb Bay. Toward the end of the day, you will arrive at the new location. There, you can stay on the boat and dine aboard or go to one of the seaside restaurants.

We suggest beginning your morning with a Turkish breakfast at a local restaurant or with a cup of coffee aboard a yacht. You wake up in a picturesque bay, which is not just beautiful to look at but also intriguing to explore. It is right here that part of the famous Lycian Trail passes through several trekking trails. Along these, you can climb to the mountain's summit or hike to the famous ruins of Cleopatra's hammam, a popular attraction in the area.

Afterwards, the cruise continues, and the yacht sails on its way towards civilization. On your way to Fethiye, you can ask the captain to make a stop for a swim in one of the picturesque bays along the way. You will spend a few hours in the open sea, enjoy the sunset, and in the late afternoon you will reach one of the main sailing cities in Turkey. We suggest you leave the boat for a while and spend all your time on land, walking around the city and enjoying the local cuisine.

We suggest that you spend half of this day exploring the city and its attractions. For the most curious travelers, we recommend walking to the ancient amphitheater, climbing the ruins of the fortress, and discovering the unique views of the ancient tombs. After that, you can walk to the city museum, which is dedicated to the history of ancient Lycia. Fethiye has a beautiful harbor, lots of small stores, and a great fish market. There are grocery stores that sell fresh seafood, fish, fruits, and vegetables.

The next location of the trip, Gemiler Island, will take you a few hours to get there. This uninhabited island is near Fethiye and is one of the most popular anchorage spots for yacht cruises. The ruins of churches and ruins of 4th and 6th century buildings, olive groves, rocky cliffs, azure waters, and mountains surrounding the island are just some of the sights that will fascinate you during your trip. We recommend that you take a bottle of wine and some snacks and head out to admire the views at sunset.

Not far from Gemiler Island is located the resort village of Oludeniz, famous for the attraction of paragliders and its unusual beach, «Blue Lagoon». You can get to the village by taxi from the nearest beach and spend literally the whole day there. For example, you can enjoy a typical beach vacation, set off on the cable car to the top of the mountain Babadag, fly on a paraglider with an instructor, or immerse yourself in the mysterious atmosphere of the ghost village Kayakey.
This day will be spent in two picturesque locations at once. First, you'll explore the natural canyon, which has become popular due to the presence of more than 100 species of butterflies. You can see butterflies from June until September. The sanctuary is also unique in the way that it is almost impossible to access it by land. The small beach is surrounded by steep cliffs, and there are several beautiful waterfalls within the canyon. So even without the butterflies, there is still a lot to see there.

The second place you will visit is a small bay called Kapi Creek, where you will anchor for the last night. This cozy and quiet place is famous for several reasons: its beautiful olive groves, an authentic atmosphere, and a good restaurant with delicious meat dishes.

Right after your breakfast, you leave the bay and embark on a long sea crossing to Marmaris. The sailing will take about 6 hours, during which you can share your memories with each other or try to reflect on the events of the past week in private.

You will arrive in the evening at your starting point, where you can spend the rest of your time in Marmaris. We highly recommend that you take a walk on land and explore the area after a long sail. Stroll through the streets of the old town, have dinner in a seaside restaurant, celebrate the end of the cruise on the bar street, purchase some souvenirs at the bazaar, or climb the walls of the castle.

Your wonderful yacht cruise has come to an end. Around 9:00, you will bid goodbye to the skipper and end your unique yacht voyage.

Of course, because charter cruises are suitable for everyone and don't require any special preparation. During the trip, the captain will guide you and help you dive into the world of yachting. And if you have any questions before the cruise, your personal manager is always there to answer them.
It is the same as with any other vehicle you rent. You leave a security deposit of between €1500 and €5000 before the cruise, and you can get it back as soon as the voyage is over. The more expensive the boat, the higher the deposit.
This cruise is personalized, so there will be no problem changing your itinerary. You can discuss a more convenient departure point or consult regarding stopovers with your personal manager. The manager will review the route with the captain and suggest alternatives.
The trip takes place on the sea coast of Turkey, where even during the winter, the air temperature usually does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius and the sea cools down rather slowly. The primary yachting season starts in April and ends in late November. But even during the remaining four months, there are plenty of activities for travelers to do besides swimming and sunbathing.
Our team is partnered with some of the toughest and most professional sailors who have been cruising with travelers from all over the world for many years. They know everything about Turkey, will guide you to unique locations, recommend various activities, and if you wish, they can teach you how to sail.
All cruise participants are welcome to try themselves as real yachtsmen or women and become a ship's mate for a while. All you need to do is express your wish to your captain and actively participate in the whole sailing process: help with mooring, try your hand at tying special knots, hoisting the sails, and steering the boat.
During the cruise, there will be several large sailings ranging from two to six hours and many small crossings from one location to another. The cruise is balanced in such a way that there will be plenty of time on land as well as on the waters.
The itinerary of a yacht cruise is designed to avoid high waves and difficult sections as much as possible. But a cruise wouldn't really be a cruise without seasickness. So be prepared for motion sickness, take into account the recommendations of the captain, and take with you a pack of Dramamine. Even those who have never suffered from such issues can feel seasick. The good news is that after a couple of days, the body adjusts to the new conditions and makes crossing the sea easier.
For a whole week, your actual home will be a yacht or catamaran, so you'll spend most of your time there. Specifically, eating, lounging, enjoying yourself, and, of course, sleeping. All boats have fairly comfortable cabins, where you'll spend the night.
On the very first day before you get on the boat, we suggest purchasing all the groceries you'll need, which can be replenished during your stopovers in the cities. Usually travelers prepare breakfast and lunch on the boat and dine at restaurants during the anchorages.
Before the cruise, your personal manager will send you recommendations regarding things you should take with you on the cruise. Our main advice is to avoid bringing bulky items and large suitcases.
